That’s the problem, they do become old friends that you’ve looked after, cherished, cursed, spent stupid amounts of money on, kicked, taken on adventures, taken down the chippie, etc, etc, etc.

Sorry to hear about this and I think we all know you looked after your Discovery and some more.
Unfortunately, as a Discovery owner, you live in fear.

Sean, when it gets to its end destination and they start it (assuming they try and start it) worth videoing that. Will give peeps an idea of what, and how bad, the noises are. When mine went it helped remotely diagnose the likely cause and determined that there was no point in throwing good money after bad stripping down the engine, esp at NW Norway prices.
So DSL, do all your "old friends" end up being stripped bare and left in foreign places ? sounds like a stag do to me.

Managed to get it home. Supposed to be travelling to ireland today via somewhere else. Well at least the wife gets to see me.
Videod trying to start it. But can’t seem to load the video
Would you not consider putting a new engine in it Sean if the rest of it is sound ?The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Tried to load the video of trying to start the engine onto utube but when I press the publish button it won’t publish.
Just thinking it over the next few days about putting a new engine. It’s just a lot of money.

I use Google Drive for my pics and vids ... it's free, so maybe give that a go.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Remember I’m not a techie but it sounds like it’s turning fine but not firing. Fuel pump related? Have you dodged a bullet?
