Yes but its not just a drop in job.

Search on here and youtube, DM (discomikey) on here has done it but he went mad and made a pretty amazing car, the guys on youtube are russian and I do not speak russian so have no idea what they did.

One thing is for sure, it wont be cheap!

I have just removed seized 2.7 engine from a D3. I expected spun bearings but it's worse than that - snapped crank. Engine solid because broken parts of crank jammed against each other. Sad

Wow, fair play DM, that is a monster job and looks great. I read the whole thread - that's what work is for, right? Laughing

Do you still have the car?

Commiserations on the snapped crank... never something we want to hear... is it your car?

Car is looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment

Had a sunroof leak, and carpet has started to disintegrate, so its been parked up until I can find time to replace it Rolling Eyes

Just to bring this thread to a close, I looked at the options, found a half decent (all-be-it fairly high mileage) 08 plate car fairly local to me for £3500, so cheaper than a new engine. Had a few issues (nothing major), so used the original car as a donner, so for a weeks spare time work, back on the road.
