Thought I better change the tank cradle..

After practically leaving a trail of that and metal behind me, thought it was time to change the fuel tank cradle. I think it's seen better days... didn't even drop the tank to change the cradle 😁

Oh

Got mine from LR.. p/n WFN000014 - not sure if that's correct. That's just on the invoice..

Oh and £184.98 😲 - probably be able to get it cheaper somewhere else.

Just a silly question, but when you remove the cradle, does the tank drop down, or is the tank still held?

Mine is not in very good condition, and I will have to replace it soon.

Thanks.

the tank will drop off the vehicle - I used straps tied between the chassis raill and prop shaft to keep the tank held up - the fact the back 1/3 of the cradle is/was missing made it easier Wink

I changed mine a few years ago on my old D3 run fuel down to an absolute minimum and get someone to help you including the use of a few straps

I remember following Haynes manual to change brake pads on a previous car and wondering what the "dust shield" they referred to was … turned out all that was left of it were thin layers of rust under the retaining bolts.

(and before DSL jumps in with "no pics didn't happen", it was along time ago Very Happy … probably got a cave painting of it somewhere)
