Yes, cut down Land Rover Expo. Easy to do, you can unbolt most of it. The uprights are held together by some countersunk allen screws, and there are a few pop rivets to drill out.

If you do remove the upper section, you will find a large gap between the rails at the back, I used a section of the top rail cut down to size, to fill the gap. I also modified the plastic end caps at the rear to look neater.

I did all this in the vain hope that it would no longer trash the fuel consumption, and might even quieten it down at speed, but no, its still noisy and takes about 2mpg off.

Thanks Gareth for the good Smile and not-so-good Sad news.

The D3 is so quiet that I'm trying to minimise noise due to a roofrack. Crying or Very sad

Best Wishes,
Peter

Is it true that custom plates cost more cars in the UK? What's that all about?

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Saw the Gareth-mobile up close tonight - still looking good - got me thinking about putting the bits back on mine... Neutral

Oh and I can confidently say they ought to film Saturday Kitchen from Gareth's house next week - stunning job G - how were the lamb chops? Whistle

Off Topic

err, is it just me?

The e-mailed notification of the last post came through disco3.com, as normal

But the thread has opened up on disco4.com with a pic of the D4 at top.

Confused
