Time for a CTEK !!

Evening all Thumbs Up

A few months ago I had a a new battery fitted to the D4 after LRA deemed it fooked Rolling Eyes ,I've just been away for 12 days and come back looking forward to driving my pride & joy Mr. Green ....but the ruddy thing was dead as a dodo Banging Head ,whoops I thought as I had left the B/V running Embarassed .Anyhow after LRA worked their magic and bought her back to life, it was reading that there is a 1.5amp drain when the car has gone to sleep Rolling Eyes ,then even with the B/V disconnected it still had a 0.5 Amp drain for no apparent reason !
So I've decided to invest in a CTEK Thumbs Up Am I right in thinking I saw a thread on here once where you can plug into the "White" towing electrical socket ??

Can anybody reccomend which CTEK to buy Thumbs Up

TIA

Any ctek can be plugged into the D3's pooper, not sure about the D4, it it's a little posher she might not like it... Laughing

Adapters for this can be bought from the Disco3 shop up there ------------^

I have a the 3.6 ctek and it works fine, but it's the cheapest, least powerful one.

It doesn't have the direct 12v output that the more expensive ones have, but still has the power to top up and condition the original battery in my 05 D3.

You are correct I plug mine into the 13 pin socket at the back. There is a moderator who sells the adapters with the correct attachment etc on this site.

I went for the 3600 but would suggest that if you can go bigger then do. I use it for my van too.

A great function is that you can just leave it plugged in. It even has a function that restarts itself if 240v power is cut off. Great if you are away etc.

I have leant it to people who's battery is not holding it's charged and it's brought them back to life.

Worth every penny IMHO

Thumbs Up

I had a twin battery system fitted with Odyssey AGM batteries. The company that fitted it recommended the CTEK Multi MXS 10 10A 12V 8-Stage Battery Charger Conditioner as it has a specific AGM cycle. really good.

Previously I had the MXS 5 which worked well on a single battery

I've been having flat battery problems of late and I'd be interested to know what is causing the drain if you find out.

The MXS 5 can do the job but takes an age when cold or with an AGM battery.

The MXS 7 work in all conditions.

Some buy the MXS 10 as it is not much more money that the MXS 7 and has more conditioning power, faster charging and an auto temp feature.

I have the MXS 7 and the MXS 10 but tend to use the 10 on the D4.

My voltmeter plugged into a Ctek lead to the tow socket:
