Any Tips On Covering Up Big Scatches????

Had the D3 a matter of weeks and already some jealous thug has keyed it - im gutted. Its not that deep but its very obvious and down to the white undercoat (or whatever its called!!!??)

Just wondered if anyone had any tips to try and cover it up - before i take it to a bodyshop and pay a fortune to repair it.

My D3 is Java Black.

Many thanks.

Sorry to here that. There are some jealous scumbags around Evil or Very Mad

Mine was keyed a couple of weeks ago across both n/s doors. Fortunately it didn't go too deep into the primer and my local bodyshop was able to buff the worst of it out. There is still a small area, but as my car is silver it doesn't stand out too much and I can live with it.

Not sure how you will get on with black. Hope other Java owners will be able to help.

Steve,

Sorry to here you've been affected by these scumbags Evil or Very Mad

Try ChipsAway before getting the whole door done - I don't have any personal experience of them, but have only heard good reports - it should be cheaper and apparently they are able to match the colours much better than when you have a whole panel done.

You just keep coming up with reasons for me to come to the SE meet. Is it my aftershave? Wink
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

A friend of mine did. He calmly went to the back of his Jag and got his "ninga sticks" out and gave them a quick demo. The Censored did the only thing sensible and RAN.
I've seen his "quick demo", its SCARY, all you can see is a blur with a loud whistling and cracking noise. His "slow demo" is better because you can see what the sticks are doing - I'm sure they bend at places other than the linking chains!

Good for him. Thumbs Up

I wonder what you could actually get away with though. I reckon if I caught someone vandalising my D3 my temper would get the better of me. Maybe kick his head in and then claim that he threatened violence? ; 'it was purely self defence, officer' Whistle

My-lud, may I say the reason for My clients behavior is quiet simple. My client was simply acting in self defence of one of Their family members. One which My client values more than Their partner.
Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

I found Paint Technic better. Our local Chips Away 'technician' (snigger, guffaw) made a mess of one repair and drives around here at 100mph like a tw@t (not that I'm letting this get personal you understand).

.....steve

I have used a couple of scratch removers here in the North....both did a good job
I believe Black as it isn't metallic is relatively easy, ask around the dealers as to who they use....dealers use scratch removers for delivery damage sorting out before customers get cars.
The good ones will tell you just how good the fix will be.
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
