Any tips before remove wheel arch etc? washer bottle access

Ok I've put up with the D4 telling me the washer bottle is empty when it isn't for a number of weeks now (tried emptying the bottle and filling it a few times to try and sort out the float... if that's what the problem is) and it is getting too annoying to NOT deal with it any longer.

I believe the washer bottle/pump/sensor is accessed through the wheel arch so the wheel arch trim needs to come off first? My paintwork is perfect Santorini black and I'm worried just how best to remove the wheel arch trim? does it pull off straight? Need pulling off from the back/front first? that sort of thing really. I'm thinking of covering the adjacent wing with masking tape too just in case I catch the paintwork... is that over kill?

Any tips and tricks welcome really Bow down

Thanks Thumbs Up

That's great thanks!
Is there any hidden fasteners or anything worth noting about the inner wheel arch removal?

Thanks for this video, I have to change my water bottle, as there is a split in it.
I was wondering how to get the wheel arches off. Bow down Bow down

I haven't watched the video, but the front ones have a screw that is accessed via the headlight aperture.

HELP!

Ok, I've got the wheel trim and inner wheel arch removed ok (thanks Thumbs Up ) But how does the washer level sensor remove from the washer bottle? Does it just pull out? It has a black sealing washer between the bottle and sensor and there appears to be two adjacent flat edges forming a square edge to the sensor so it can't turn (I don't think). Help, it's dark and it's in bits LOL Rolling with laughter

Thanks

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Well ok I'm wet now, and know that yes it does just pull out... or at least it does once all the water is out of the bottle and the float has dropped back down so it will draw out of the bottle Thumbs Up

Well I was hoping the float was just stuck but no, it's the magnetic switch itself that the float's magnet operates. Checking with a multi-meter it is stuck showing about 20 Ohms. With the switch disconnected so open circuit the warning message is not present so it's off to get a new sensor in the morning.

Update:
All put back together and happy again!
