As an “O” registered car, is it fair to assume that it’ll be sold on with the rest of the “Land Rover Management” Approved Used cars? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

On what basis? The problem is that people take these sorts of comments seriously and base buying decisions on it.
Bear in mind that Volvo’s warranty expires at 60,000 miles (not unlimited mileage, as per Land Rover). At >35,000 miles a year, it’s the one reason it would never make commercial sense for me to consider one. Probably best suited to private mileage users only 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Which is why we're not dissuaded from buying the XC60 for swmbo I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Which is fair enough, but it does seem odd that for a car manufacturer that likes to suggest that it’s cars are more robust than any other, they are effectively saying that their cars aren’t up to being driven more than 20,000 miles a year!
I used to drive Volvo’s as contract hire cars on full maintenance packages so, in theory, it was up to them to pick up the pieces. But then, they were always so cost conscious that they’d even moved their service policy from Volvo main dealers to “service” at ATS!! Any major issues would have almost certainly been met with collective heal dragging and ultimately, the fitting of used parts. With a Land Rover, it would be covered by the manufacturer. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

So you're assuming the Ingenium engine has the same issues as the V6 or does that view hold for all LR product?
I don't agree on the Alfa being 'unreliable' either now. In reality nobody makes a 'bad car' really these days and I doubt Alfa do, even if it is Chrysler backing them up......

.
Plenty of manufacturers offering 5 and 7 year warranties, are LR saying their cars aren't expected to last more than 3 years

A brave idea in principle, but remember that Kia’s 7 year warranty is restricted to a maximum of 100,000 miles, or 3 years/60,000 miles for audio and navigation units. Potentially a great retirement car for getting to the Post Office and back though! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
