Used the APRR tag for the first time last week and had problems at every exit with the bikes on the roof and the caravan on tow
The barrier opened when we entered but when we pulled up at the exits both going last saturday and coming back yesterday the barrier would not open without using the help button and babbling some french/english at the operator
Had no problems with the barriers opening without the bikes and caravan as had a day trip out to the outlet village next to Disneyland Paris
Anyone else had problems with their tag with bikes on the roof etc ?

One on my XK as per instructions......limited as they were
The instructions I got (with the same basic transponder) for Irish motorways was far more specific
Noting that larger vehicles have to stick the device on the screen in an alternative way
I will look for the link that details this & put it on here.
The one big thing is that with a heated or athermic (? Thier words not mine) screen it had to be in the marked area.[/i]BREXIT - done properly.

Simon, sounds like it's a height thing where it thinks you are a commercial/high vehicle. Does the category for the tag include a caravan, that might be the issue.
Yes class 2 is a caravan- I think it might be the bikes
Have checked my aprr account and have been correctly billed as class 2 going and class 1 on the day trip - yesterday is not showing yet

My tag works anywhere on the screen, in the black zone, held against screen, where tax disc was, anywhere. Only time it wouldn't work was where I wasn't close enough to the barrier. You've got to be pretty close.

Hope my French is still as good as it was when I failed my "O" level in 1979.
I passed mine in 1985 but now seem to be limited to ordering beer and food so have the important things covered

Used mine last year with no problems at all with the tin tent, didn't have bikes on roof but will this year!!
