- Wiring faults may cause an electrical fire at the rear of the vehicle when used with a trailer wiring harness connected to the rear hook up.

- Note this does not apply to all Discovery 3's within the given VIN range, only some of those with towpacks. Vehicles going in for other remedial work may be quarantined by the dealer. Check with dealer if your vehicle is affected if they have not contacted you.

Mine has now been fixed - was referred to as a new wiring loom for the tow bar system.

It would be very useful to know what the poroblem was / is so that those of us still to buy the D3 know what to look out for.

I did not get any more detailed explanation other than the wiring loom required replacing. It was however flagged up as a "quarantine" on the LR database (not that anyone bothered contacting me to advise this!) - all I could suggest is raising it with your dealer as they must have access tothe list of quarantine items. Sorry I've no more info.

incorrect wiring of the tow harness was the issue,there is a service action for this fault .
when a vehicle enters a dealer it is a requirement of the dealer to check for any outstanding service actions-and these will automatically be carried out.
it was not a recall -so you would not be contacted
