when's a 'Newbie' not a 'Newbie'

Just wondering ... when's a 'Newbie not a Newbie'
I only been here since Nov 06 with 1160 posts [plus 100 'Brown Peas' Greenpeace posts]
Bodsy has been here since Nov 06 [and recently described himself as a 'newbie'] and surely is near 2k posts [without checking]
I've also seen other long term members since early 2005 with only 200 odd postings!
SO .. whats the criteria for shaking off the 'newbie' tag.
Is it 'face to face' pub meets?
Is it attending Off Road events?
what is it .... in your opinion?
I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

To my mind, a Newbie is only applied in the "I want someone to help me use this car as intended" situation. There are lots of members who have never driven off road, and need a confidence building session with more experienced members.

The key thing is that we are all members of the same forum, and forums are for helping each other out.

Different 'Newbie' descriptions.

I consider myself no longer a 'newbie' on the forum, not because my posts have been particularly useful or profound, but because I have managed to help others from time to time (admitedly, only by learning from others already here).

But I DO consider myself a newbie when it comes to off-roading.
I've only been on one off road event (in my own car) at Boughrood which was great and I think I will be attending others. I'll lose the newbie tag I think once I've reached a confidence level of off-roading that I'm comfortable with.

Although I think I'll always consider myself a Newbie until I've got my hands on a set of MTR's Smile Thumbs Up

Golf is a stupid, no, very stupid game affliction. What is the point in walking around a field in the rain, hitting a plastic thing with a stick, trying to get it into a hole in the ground? Its madness Wink

Golf is a great game (gentlemen only ladies forbidden). Here in Oz you sit in a cart with a mate, beer in hand, occassionally get out hit the ball and 4 to 5 hours no reporting the finance mangers.
