Just figured out (after a few weeks, hmmm...) that the 2nd row left and right side headrests may be entirely removed. Just press the small latch on both sides at the same time, while pulling the headrest upwards. Notice that one latch is hidden on the plastic ring, have to use a nail or fingertip to press it...
Comes handy when using booster seats, as the headrest prevents them from laying flat on the backrest. (Booster seat manual also recommends to remove the headrest entirely if possible).TDV6 HSE Java Black, auto, difflock, fridge, winter, 7-seater, PDC, privacy, AHL, sunroof - 3rd row fixed

I tend to raise the head rests to clear the child seats, rather than removing them entirely. Having them off the car and in the boot / passenger floor would get them filthy in no time, or worse lost.Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue

Its that middle one that needs to me removed really - you'd get a much better view out of the back if it wasn't there or could fold it down Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

The middle one is removable - it is just more work because of the seatbelt it is difficult to access the second switch.David
