Hi, I want to re-instate the EGR's in my D3 SE (08 plate), which has the BAS software patch for EGR removal along with their blanking plates. I still have the original pipework and the butterfly valve. Has anyone tried going back to original after the software patch, I tried emailing BAS Remaps several weeks ago without a response. I have emailed again tonight but just wondered if anyone else had tried to return their vehicle back to normal?
I am also probably going to fit 2 new EGR's has anyone noticed any difference in reliability between the original parts and OEM parts from other manufacturers?
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike
Have you had an issue since blanking? Just blanked on my 2009 TDV6 HSE after a small fire caused by the EGR sticking open so wondering why you would want to go back? If you have an IID can you not simply go back to the standard pre BAS configuration?
Not heard of anyone wanting to go back so wondering why.
Out of interest was the butterfly removed as well. If you are looking for any EGRs I have a new one (cant remember which in a box of parts I bought from here some time ago)
Cheers

No issues with blanking, I want to sell the car and while my insurers are happy that the EGR's have been bypassed, not all insurers are. I have also noted that on the BAS website they no longer offer the software patch and state that the blanking kit is NOT for on road use. Pete Bell has been in touch this evening and hopefully will be able to point me in the right direction. While the IID Tool from GAP Diagnostics stores the cars configuration, I am not sure if it stores the engine management software that controls the EGR's, but Pete Bell should know the answer to that. Hi Darrind, my year of D3 will only allow EGR removal if the software patch is applied and it also requires that the butterfly valve is removed. Mike

When the CCF was changed, did a backup file get created, if so just copy the backup file back to the configuration file.
