Hi all, it has been a long time since my last post but now i need help again.
We have had almost 2 years with no big problems with our 2008 LR3.
We had the DPF Full Failure a couple of times but this is probably because of the City Use.
For 1 month there was a minor „raising slow“ issue. So i ordered the Compressor Service kit and serviced it. The Drying balls were all old so it realy was time.
After the service the Raising slow was gone! Job well done! Happy feelings.
But this was that the problems started.
„Engine System failure“.
I noticed that one Brakelight didn´t work. So i changed it.
Still „Engine System failure“. But now it occured after pushing the Brake pedal.
After a lot of testing i noticed that i could shift gear without braking and pushing the knob.
So i changed the Brakelight Stop Switch.
After this was done the „Engine System failure“ on braking was gone! Job well done! Happy feelings.
NOT! The failure came again. Now the failute occurs like this:
starting, everything is well. Then after 10 or so seconds, the „Engine System failure“ occurs.
When i clear all Failures ini the IID tool, i can drive with no problems till i stop the engine.
When i start again, sometimes the „Engine System failure“ occurs.
Now al kind of failures seem to come within one week: PDC is not funktioning, „Exhaust gas recirculation Circuit low“ , the cruise control is not funktioning.
I allready put in a new Battery.
It all started as i serviced the compressor. Can it be that i damaged some cable?
I´m getting fed up, i am Tired. Please help.
PS, it is not my car, it is the car of my SWMBO so Help please!

I assume you did not change the battery because of this problem then.
you need to check the connections to the battery and use jump leads to another good battery and see if the problem still happens when starting the engine. if its ok with another battery connected then go back to where you got the battery and tell them it is kaput.

Momento,
the Problem ist not on starting the engine.
I can start, and then after 10 or so seconds, may also be 20 seconds, the failure Comes.
I tried to provoke it through turning on all lights, seat heating, Window heating and so on.
This does not seem to have any affection on the failure.
I do not think it is the battery, but i will try with another one.

maybe because 2008 came with a DPF...? So why the question and rolling eyes...?
Dutchrockboy - As you have an IID tool I recommend you download the fault codes and post them here. It will help with ideas on the problem MY2008 D3 - It got me hooked...gone
MY2012 D4 - It kept me hooked...gone
MY2007 D3 - Mid-Life crisis toy continues driving me to bankruptcy...

I think what was implied was that LR3 refers to a petrol model.

Kajtzu - "LR3/LR4" is the North American term. They were designated as LR3 etc in those markets rather than D3 But doesn't mean its petrol. MY2008 D3 - It got me hooked...gone

There were no diesel versions in North America, only petrol.

Agreed - But it looks like the OP has most probably used "LR3/4" in the profile in error for a European-spec vehicle....but we digress (which is normal for most threads ) MY2008 D3 - It got me hooked...gone

Because some markets had a DPF fitted from the factory. Just because its not on our UK spec cars doesn't mean its not on an ROW spec car

Sorry for the LR3 / LR4 uncertainty.
The Car i am Talking About is a LR3 2,7 Diesel.
I own a LR4 and a LR3 so that at least one of both is running
Here are the Codes:
Engine TDV6
• P0490-00 (27) Exhaust gas recirculation control - circuit high
Rear Diff
• P080A-00 (7F) Clutch position is not learnt
( on 03-03-2019 22:38:10 at 242518 km )
Terrain Response
• U0401-94 (27) Invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module - Component failure - unexpected operation
( on 03-03-2019 22:38:37 at 242518 km )
The clutch posisition Failure is new and occured after playing around with the IID tool.
