BUMP
Did anyone find out what the content of this was?
I need to get my EPB looked at and want some info as I consider this to be a warranty issue.

LTB00079, EPB screech on apply/while stationary.
the internal componets of the epb have over travelled & jammed,
basically use IDS test equipment to set 'unjam procedure'.
then manually clean/inspect parking brake components,
then use IDS to 'drive parking brake to latching position
clear DTC's
select low range check for noise, maybe renew epb unit.
Regards

My D3 (06) is going in on Monday for dealer to sort this out, screeches regularly and fuel economy has dropped by about 5mpg since it started about 10 days ago. Dealer said it is about 3 hours work to strip it down completely and clean it up etc. they did say it was a known fault and they are seeing quite a few!!
Just hoping fuel economy goes back up above 18mpg especially with fuel as expensive as it is

So should be a free job then SJR if they said its a known fault. Many dealers charge to do the clean and adjust bit. Just so you are aware

When my car was last in the stealer (for an EPB failure) there were several cars in there with EPB problems. Fixed under warranty.

I was talking to the local LRA guy (who happened to be in the local dealers) He said the revised service procedure the dealers are using - which must be what Steve mentioned - is resulting in less reoccurring problems now. Formerly shiny moose

I concur.... OH my god, I never thought I'd use that outside of a steer committee review paper
Seriously, my EPB, which whined more than my ex, has been faultless since Sept. 07 and it's seen lots of mud, sludge and donkey schizzle* since then

Hi all
I've had a few experiences where the car rolls forward but I think this has been when I have "flicked" the brake on as opposed to firmly lifting the lever - bit like a real handbrake then!
I have to admit I don't entirely trust the system - especially when parking on a hill with a heay trailer! Although it's brilliant for hillstarts in the same circumstances.
I also had the P light stay on the other morning and a Parking Brake Fault message on the dash. I cured this by switching off and on again (like most things).
Lastly I get a noise like the brakes are binding - I read a message on here which aounds like this could in fact be the parking brake again?
Car has done 36,000 miles in 10 months towing at least 50% of the time and otherwise is great. To all environmentalists - the day they make SMART car which will tow a 2 tonne fridge across a field, I will buy one.

Had the Amber Parking Brake Fault light appear couple of days ago - no off-roading at all (not even a puddle) - cured by ignition off-on again.
Have had the squeeling sound (sounds from rear) a few times also - was booked in last week, but have had to re-schedule for a time more suitable to get to dealers, and when they have a car other than a fiesta available to use.
Also passenger front footwell is wet, so probably AC or window - something else to check, along with passenger side rear door handle coming off too

Land Rover after 3 weeks finally sent me a letter saying my park brake problem is MY FAULT as I didnt let them rob me of $1500 to change the brake pads and who ever did change them MAY have caused the problem! Ha.
They also say I never had it serviced - well Land Rover I did - but refuse to get RIPPED OFF by you and then have to do my own repairs anyway!
I have had it with these guys - If anybody wants to start a class action I am happy to put in the $2000 odd I need to fix the brake and use it to sue these Bastards! What say you???
