Success! Despite my earlier misgivings, the stealer has now agreed the EPB module is nackered. Only trouble is that no-one has got one anywhere, so at least 2 weeks to be repaired. 2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey, Ebony Leather, Tin Tenter

I hope this is the right place - rather than a new topic.
I cleaned my compressor box this afternoon, which meant lifting the car to full height to get the ramps under the chrome side tubes, and driving up them.
Did the clean out and drove off the ramps. On applying the EPB, with it still in off-road height, the EPB screamed. Took it off and on again, with the same result.
Lowered the suspension to normal and applied it again and nothing, just came on and was quiet.
Does it go on harder when the suspension is set to off road?
I've only had the car about 3weeks, so is under warranty etc, but is it something to get looked at sooner rather than later? Mark.

Yes get it looked at, apparantly the EPB only comes on harder if movement is detected via the ABS sensors. But I have my doubts as I seem to get the problem more if I apply the EPB on a steep incline.

Does 'screamer' mean that the EPB rubs against the backplate while driving, or does it mean that when you engage the EPB you get the screaming noise? Or both/either?
I don't get any problems with mine while driving, but it has started to occasionally make a horrendous screaming noise when I engage the EPB. Does this mean the EPB just needs adjusting as per Diso Mikey's guide?
Thanks in advance

Had issues with EPB mostly when towing our caravan and far too frequent. EPB must be a common issue as our local independent LR agent was aware of the issue from my basic description of the problem and sound, he advised a strip down & clean to fix. £150 later no issue.
Cheers

Mine went back to the dealer a couple of times in the end - was adjusted, went to the MOT station, which it passed, then came back and it locked on.
So they had to replace it with a new one.
No issues since, so here's hoping it will be ok now. Mark.

I had mine lock on at the end of the test drive. I'd researched it so I knew it was a common issue and so there was a little bit of provocation involved as I made sure it wasn't going to fail as soon as I got it home.
The previous owner never used it (and lived amongst the jagged peaks of Essex so why would you need one?) and apparently this can cause issues when someone suddenly starts using it. I, however, live right in the middle of the Pennines so it's a little more useful around here. I'm having it fixed at the seller's cost which is good of him. Don't yet know exactly what's caused it to lock on but no doubt I'll find out soon...

Mine has screamed a couple of times recently. Generally seems worse if i take foot of brake and roll back a little before EPB activates.
Did it this afternoon and that was it - Locked on.
Called LRA as could see release cable but couldn't reach it as it had slipped down. AA arrived in 50 mins.
He located it but daren't pull hard enough to release it. I said give it death and eventually it released.
Still making terrible noises but not locked on. AA bloke arranged recovery for the morning while there and for a courtesy vehicle. Enterprise called me within 30mins and said they would deliver a 'Large 4x4' in the morning.
So far so good, BUT wo be tied any Enterprise rep if he turns up in less than a D3. Expecting a Kia Sportage or at best a Freelander.
EDIT: Enterprise arrived at lunchtime with a black RRS HSE. Nice job ope the Disco takes a while to fix!!!
Hopefully dealer will also replace faulty diff and wheel bearings while it's in, but i doubt it. 08 D3 Commercial 240bhp Remap - BFG A/T's

Mine is screeching like a good-un at present.
I found its best to completely stop moving before applying it. In the past a good cleen out of dust is all that was required to sort it.

Mine failed after 18 months and took Land Rover 5 months to obtain a replacement!
EPB is " not fit for purpose "
When I had the car serviced last month I asked the main dealer to service and check the EPB.
Their response was "Why?"
My answer was ...because the last time it failed it took you 5 months to get the part you b. Idiot!
Their answer " oh yea"
Give them their due, they only charged for 30 mins labour instead of the 1.5 hours it normally takes Mike
