Alarm and wing mirrors
Some advice please. Discovery 4 Luxury. 2012.
When I either set my alarm via key fob or door button, the doors lock but the mirrors have stopped folding in. After a few seconds the "bleep bleep" from the alarm sounds. This is the same sound as if a door is open when you try to set the alarm. I took the wagon to my stealer this morning who states there is no fault showing up on the computer and I have to book a full day of testing out of warranty with them.
Has any one had similar problems with a fix please?Lucky all my life.

Also have you checked whether you can manually fold the mirrors using the two buttons on the driver's door? There is also a menu setting for mirror fold in the setup menu.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Are you sure all the doors are actually locking? You get these same symptoms if one of the lock mechanisms has failed.MY12 D4 HSE Marmaris Teal

Yes mirrors fold in on pressing the buttons on the drivers door. Will check door locks, but I have not been able to find the mirrors in the setup menu.
Thanks for the advice so far. I will check it out today.Lucky all my life.

Try to isolate the bonnet switch with a link across the terminals.
Isn't the mirror settings in the menu just in relation to the glass dipping down when reversing rather than the folding back of the mirror assembly ?

After a few tests, I have found that the drivers door does not lock on remote or on keyless button press.
The door can be locked for now from the inside and left secure. Will test now to see if the solenoid is at fault or an issue with the loom.

The mechanism failing does seem to be a relatively common problem. There is a how to guide somewhere on here to help with the replacement mission. As I understand there are also two different sorts of mech; you'll need the fast one to work with the keyless entry systemMY12 D4 HSE Marmaris Teal
