A couple of weeks ago 10forcash did a top job installing 4 Lightforce 140's on my Frontrunner roof rack, including all the wiring.
What was left for me was to get a set of nice switches and install them. I really wanted the switches to be installed in the overhead light panel, because they would be out of the way, easy to reach and it seemed a logical place for switches controlling roof mounted lights.
After some sawing, drilling and soldering this is the result:

And this is how the rack mounted lights look:

Detailed photos of the modifications to the overhead panel are in my gallery. 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

Looks Good
Where do the wires enter the cabin? If I could think of anything intelligent, poignant or witty, I'd put it here !!!

The cables run along the rack to the back of the car, and run behind the tailgate (connected by a waterproof connector). The wiring loom enters the cabin behind the LH tail light, through a grommet that was already there.
From there they run forward behind various bits of trim. Such is the magic of 10forcash/Offroad Essentials
I'll see if I can take/dig up some photos later. 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

what a superb job - hope you have not patented the switch arrangement as I will be asking TFC to do the neccessary on mine soon!
That is a great idea and I'd never have thought of it! D3 05 SE (old one)

No patent yet, so feel free to copy it
I am quite pleased with that arrangement, it is very easy to reach the switches, and it looks cool too
I spaced them out in such a way that 2 additional switches can be added in between. This would mean more serious sawing at the bracket inside.
Mmm, now I must think of a purpose for those switches
TFC really does a top job, his wiring looks better than the original Land Rover looms 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

That is an awesome place for the switched - how did you get the wires under the headliner? Did you need to remove it completely? David

No, the headliner was left in place. The trim on the driver side A-pillar was removed (mine is a LHD), and the (sleeved) wires -with the ends taped together- were carefully pushed through over the headliner. Be careful with the airbag in the A-pillar! 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

To remove the panel just grab the edge near the windscreen and pull it down firmly. It comes off quite easily. Release the plugs ('waterfall' LED, Lamp unit, and PTI microphone) by pressing the catches on the plugs and pull them out.
Once the panel is out it is very easy to dis- and re-assemble. The black bracket can be removed using a screwdriver to release the 3 hooks on the edge near the lamp unit. The entire lamp unit can also be easily removed by releasing 4 plastic hooks.
I used a 'step drill' to make the holes for the switches, similar to this one. 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.
