Changing the settings / colours on the nav screen. |
|
Hi,
Not sure if this is a problem that anyone else has experienced, but being quite badly colour blind, it can be tricky to distinguish the route that the built in nav on the D4 wants me to take. Traditionally with tomtom and the others, your route is say blue, where the roads are green - nice and easy to see!
With the D4 the colour they use for your programmed route is very similar to the standard colour of the roads and is therefore very difficult to make out for colour blind folk.
Does anyone happen to know if there is a way to change this, or a setting etc? I did have a good look bit have not managed to find anything.
Also I'm sure this is a question asked a million times - but what is the easiest and cheapest way to update the maps on the D4? Or is there a way of using another interface on the screen? I seem to end up in a lot of fields at the moment - and not when im actually in the mud!
Thanks.

Regarding updates, I think it depends on the year of your car.
Mine is an MY 2010 and, as far as I'm aware, there are no updates for the maps - Land Rover changed the satnav at some point and the map maker stopped making updates.
Happy to be proved wrong, though....!
No idea about the map colours, although I expect it will again depend on your year of manufacture. 2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze
2012 - FL2 2009 GS Stornoway Grey
2001 - VW Passat Estate Inky Blue
1999 - Ford Mondeo Light Blue
1998 - Rover 25 Red

Not sure whether it would help, as I have not tried it but is it possible to switch to night mode?

Ah I have the same D4 as you - 2010. Sounds like im stuck with the old maps then! A shame there is no aftermarket solution, or some sort of update. Its not as if its an unpopular vehicle which no one uses!!
Oh well!
