What D3 issues should I check for?
Hi all
Not sure if this is the right section, so sorry if it isn't.
My name's Terry and I'm located in peterborough
I'm on the look out for a Disco3 for daily use and for work (house builder)
I have a navara d40 at the min but that is being scrapped by nissan due to chassis rust issue it was only on 74k as well
So what I'm asking is
What are the things I should mainly look out for when buying a D3 apart from the basics you check buying a second hand motor.
Thanks in advance

Presumably you mean after your visit to the psychiatrist? Sorry just kidding
If you are happy with the obvious stuff like service history, tyre wear,, exh smoke, braking, original engine, and general driving performance. It would be no harm to run it over some rough ground if that's possible, as this will usually show up any suspension bushes on the way out. Also, there should be no rattles!
Beyond that, press all the buttons and make sure everything works, particularly the suspension and transfer box Hi/Lo settings. Have a look on here in the for sale section as there are well looked after D3/4's regularly on saleyµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Hi mate
Thanks for the reply
Yeah I know there is that worry about the suspension so will check that as much as I can..Will definitely check the hi/low switchover.
I do own a range rover hse sport only had that for just over a year but that's been great so far but it has only done 70k on a 57plate so should be still good.
Always loved the look of the D3/D4's so as nissan are buying my navara back off me and I can't take the risk on another navara...I'm being pulled towards the D3
Will keep an eye out on the for sale section but budgets 5to6k max and also would like the lower tax bracket one as my range is over £500 a year 😯

If you have a RR sport then you will be dealing with pretty much the same mechanical's, running gear, and electronic systems so should feel familiar.
Only £500 a year road tax? Just as well you don't live this side of the Irish sea or it would cost you €1400 yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Ah that's good then as I do like the sport😎
1400....fook that lol
Well I guess if a good one comes along and it's the higher tax bracket I will have to bite the bullet😅
