Looking for D3 touch screen circuit diagram, component fried
So today whilst installing a switch for the aux fuel tank I managed to have some magic smoke escape from the back of my touch screen. As far as I can figure, I probably touched one of the wires going to the RRS mode switch to a live.
At the back of the topmost circuit board there is, or in my case, was a semiconductor marked D56. The board is multi-layer so I did not even try and trace where it goes but it is on the opposite side of the connector that goes to the buttons one need to intercept in order to enable RRS mode, thus my theory of what went wrong.
Does anyone perhaps know what the relevant component's number is?

D marking is nomaley a Diode.
Is the D56 in writing on the Printed board ?
There should be a marking code on the component it self as well.
But that could be unreadable due to the short circuit.
If there is somebody who can read the marking code of the component you can try to find out the specs/data of the component and replace it.

It just says C3 on the component with some dots under the 3.
It's the same as D57. There are 5 of them together
It's worth nothing on the reverse side of the board (in the area with the transformer) are 2 tiny surface mount fuses. F2 & F6
F2 can fail. The whole unit appears dead, with no optical connectivity (so no audio out the speakers/volume control) due to broken fuse.

Hi guys. I managed to source a second hand screen as I needed it rather urgently.
I did open the replacement up to confirm the component. It is as Pete K said. C3 with ** .
I asked the local electronic repair shop if they felt up to giving it a try but they declined so at this stage I'm holding on to the fried screen as it's now practically worthless but it can be scavenged if need be in future.
Pitty, about 15 years ago whilst still in the Air Force I could have asked the avionic shop at 5 Air Depot to help out, they did amazing things with SMD boards that got damaged.

C3 **
Checking the marking code overview is shows a DC/DC step down converter.
But then it is a 5-8 pins little chip.
Could make sense:
If the step down making 1.8V is missing/not working
all electronics using this power rail are failing as well.

To me it's a diode but in a 3 pin FET like package.
If you look in the picture, there is the big IC in the middle.
To the left a crystal like device in metal can?
Then slightly left of this an upwards are 5 tiny FET/Transistor like packages.

3 pins then it still has 3 options.
Transistor
Diode
FET
You can try a diode mode measurement to try and find out what it is ...

And as its identified as D
I suspect its a diode

True
But even then
3 pins
a diode only needs 2
So there are more options how the diode is in the package.
Could be even 2 diodes in the package and only 1 used....
