the heated seat appears to be gently electrocuting my backside...it still heats up but there's clearly something amiss...
anyone seen (or rather felt) this before? '06 TDV6 HSE, Java, Black Leather, Logic 7, Privacy, Steps

I think its unlikely.
Try just using the low setting.
i.e press the button twice

Probably the element is on its way out, mine burned my backside then failed the day after  The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.
