Hi DM,
once you have tried them you don't want to go back do you
have a friend who skis regular at Aviemore and goes in his Mondeo estate company car that gets fitted with a full set of True Winter tyres for the colder months by the company, he says night and day difference once there on and often passes many a 4x4 (no winters) he still struggles with ground clearance if its deep but day by day use its winters all the way

interesting that he comments in the non-permanent 4 wheel drive - be interesting to see a proper 4wd without winter's, vs that non permanent cougar

Just changed my RWD lexus tyres over to the winters, the disco ( on non winters )doesn’t have a hope in hell keeping up with the lexus in the white stuff. Or, more importantly stopping.

Same car underneath as the FL2, albeit, without Terrain Response
Correct in what he says, there has to be a mismatch in speed between F-R before the Haldex locks and provides drive to the rear. In reality, it is around 0.6s from detecting front slip to locked My D3 Build Thread
