Reversing camera with RRS Screen mod

Hi,

Sorry, I have tried to read the threads but....

Do I need to use an IID/Diags tool to tel my Disco that it will have a rear camera plugged in and it has the RRS "hack" on the yellow wire? or is this set through the menu on the screen, or does it just work with no additional setup.

I want the screen to come on automatically in reverse etc and its a 2009 car.

Thanks.

You need to change the CCF with iid or similar to get it to automatically switch when selecting reverse

After enabling this is there a way to turn off the automatic feature without editing the ccf or switching back to D3 mode.

I have a scenario where the GVIF unit has an input from the rear of our caravan and I believe when reversing this would be over ridden by the automatic switching.

TIA

well you can press the button in the top corner to return to where you were.

haven't you got a switch to take you out of RR mode? What's the problem with that when towing?

Thanks Pete,

Still in the process of wiring, yes there will be switch to reconnect the yellow wire. that would require a shutdown though. I'll have a look for that screen button didn't notice it yesterday when testing.

most video cables have a short red wire appearing at each end.

This can be used to supply the + power to the camera.
At the other end connect it to the rear of the cigar lighter. (via a 2A fuse)
or to a power wire on the rear of the display. (blue wire)

Don't use the reversing light wire, so that the picture will say on while maneuvering/going forwards
