One for the suspension gurus

Just need some clarification on the air suspension from someone who knows the system workings.

To start I have replaced all air bags, new compressor and new reservoir the car rides lovely especially after also replacing all other moving suspension components.

So my question is due to the fact every time I get in the car the compressor will run get to pressure then vent, should it run every time you get in, I’m sure there is a leak somewhere but last night I used the iid tool and put it in build mode so it didn’t self level over night to see if the suspension went down on any corner.

This morning I checked the measurements and it had moved maybe 1-2mm nothing obvious,

I drove 10 miles to the pool the compressor was running when I set off, got to the pool left in standard height did my swim etc got back in car after 1hr started up and the compressor started up.

Got home removed compressor cover and sprayed soapy water on all pipe connections to the compressor, the valve closest and the connector on the reservoir and all pipes in between nothing.

Am I correct in thinking once the compressor has built up pressure and vents the reservoir should be holding air at approx 250psi and the central valve sends this to the front or rear, if non of the corners dropped overnight then the front and rear valves arnt leaking air back to the central valve and if they were how can you test for leaks where does the returned air go.[/list]

Ok found an air leak from one of the Voss connectors on the compressor coming out of the drier cap, undid and removed the pipe below is a picture I’m sure the brass collet should be almost closed as that gap must let air past any ideas, just to confirm I tightened as tight as it would allow

I Might suggest its some dirt or a slight 'scrape' in the pipe that is allowing air past the seal. the brass furrel does not act as a seal in itself.

If you take the connector off. Clean it (and the seal) and slightly cut back the pipe (to a clean/unmarked area) and refit... that might sort it...

It does not take much for it to leak...

or get a push fit replacement to go in the compressor then refit your pipe.

Replaced pipe kept old Voss connector and re fit initial tests show it’s sealed but I’ll give it a few days and re check but I think the problem is still there as it was a minute leak so the search continues, on top of that I have wet through footwells both sides, I never had a problem before national windscreen replaced the screen so carpets up and try to find leak l, it never ends

Have you cleaned out and replaced the valve block and seals?
The leak can be internal to the block!
