Drivers Seat Belt Won't Lock |
|
Well, I've searched the forum and may have a brand new problem to resolve.
Drove to work this morning without any issues, but on the return journey home found that my (drivers) seat belt buckle would n't lock into locking mechanism. Tried proving around with the key to see if anything had got jammed in there, but could nt find anything - so ended up with a 30 minute drive home with the alarm sweat belt alarm going off - the joys
So - thought I would share this with the masses to see if anyone has had a similar issue and how it was resolved.
Looks like I have another frustrating drive in and out tomorrow

+1 disarm the bong. But if it’s not latching you might not be able to do the turn off procedure If you are on your own plug your seatbelt into the passengers belt buckle. It won’t be as good but a lot better than nothing. If you have a passenger pass their belt through yours.

still won't lock but wedged in a mini podger to stop the bongs,
so solves the annoyance - but still got the problem, I'm suspecting something has snap off or come loose in the locking mechanism - does anyone know if these can be stripped down, they looked sealed to me, for the obvious reasons

Worth looking for bits inside....
Seen everything from a 1p coin, a clip from a pen, a pen top, trolley token,to a bit of biscuit stop it from engaging.

Unless you can get what ever is blocking it out or manage to open the buckle, It’s seat out if you need to take it off. The pretensioner is attached to the other end of the buckle cable.
