Just tried to get out of my street (to check on an elderly relative living on a farm) and got stuck on a drift. No problem, snow mode selected and low range...NOPE!
Stuck and looking like a right numpty in a 4x4 in front of neighbours.
The worst part of it is I’ve seen a guy in his D3 driving up and down all day..he decided to just squeeze past and not even offer help. Guess he’s not a forum member
Disco back in the garage and a local farmer now going to check. Grrrr
It doesn’t matter how many fancy settings (or how crap at driving you are)your Disco has, if it wants to get stuck it will.
Stay safe everyone.

Yep, they are not invincible. I see peeps say they can drive through silly depth of snow, they can't as the snow will lift the car up and the wheels will loose grip. Been there, done that, t-shirt's in the drawer. I worked in 1ft for a sustained distance as being my max, and that's pushing it. Yes you can burst through a big drift but that's a different kettle of fudge. As I often think when peeps are crying out for snow, careful what you wish for.

Embarrassing isn’t it. Got stuck once on a back road when the snow built up under the chassis of my 2a SWB. The four wheels were turning slowly while I stood outside watching I had to dig out with my trusty shovel to get it back down to solid snow and reverse back the way I had come. Of course there were some spectators. Some ramblers.
EDIT. I was typing this when the ubiquitous Del got in first. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

@Rockpaperscissors: waiting on the pics. Then we can decide if it's worthy of sympathy or a good peewee-take.

C’mon Del no one takes pics of their own embarrassing moments.
I liked your picture of the Cromdale Bridge on another thread. So did SWMBO. Made us a bit “home” sick.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Had to dig a good 3ft drift out before I even got out. Then got stuck just before the Main Street. I would have easily got out with more speed but with pedestrians and parked cars I didn’t want to chance it.
