Gareth
re earlier post
"OK, if the air temp is 5 degrees or below, and the coolant temp is less than 75 degrees, the Webasto fuel burning heater Known as an FBH, will fire up when the engine is started.
It makes a faint roaring noise when it fires up, and emits deisel fumes and smoke from the small pipe at the front edge of the front left wheel arch. When you first see this it is easy to think that something is wrong, but it is perfectly normal.
It also sometimes makes smells in the cabin if the fumes get to the aircon - there is a TSB to stop this happening! and it shoud have been done on the enhancement program."
I have noticed this smell on odd occaisions so grateful to know its not uncommon but would like to see what could be done to rectify it - could you tell me what TSB is ? As you can no doubt guess I am a total newbie to this just got disco in Jan.
love it to bits but this little thing has me a bit concerned given we have a couple of young kids.
any help in clarifying how I can get this sorted would be appreciated. LR still under warrenty so keen to use it
Cheers Guys

LA412-002 covers the FBH fumes issue. Also probably worth getting LA412-001 done also. 001 covers air distribution settings, and prevents "hot foot syndrome"
Fill in your vehicle profile, because this will not be a problem on later vehicles.
LA412-002 certainly helps reduce the fumes in the cabin, but it does not completely eliminate them. [/url] Club 18 - 30 (I wish !!)

FBH I am sure we down in OZ do not have such a device fitted to our D3s Or have I missed something
Oh well I have parked my D3 at the snow for a week in freezing temps and had no trouble at all starting it,
Well if I do not have one on my early build D3 I count myself luckey One less gadgett to go wrong
