Insurance bomb shell

Just got my renewal for the Disco, and nearly choked on me coffee!

Gone up to £818 from £600. All because my wife had her car stolen, and she is named on my policy. I am surprised that this affects the premium, as the Mini (RIP) was insured separately in my wifes name Crying or Very sad

They also are now loading me for doing in excess of 25000 miles in a year.

Just called NFU for a quote, lets see what they can do.

Go to one branch in particular, can supply name if you like. A LR 110 was stolen from my property and lifted over a gate and wall, but the b******s still clobbered me (the innocent party) with the excess. I am therefore the victim twice. Maybe we should all get together and challenge the BSI.

Good news Very Happy

NFU have just come back to me with a quote of £592 for me and spouse, with £150 excess, Protected NCD, No mileage restriction, 2 year new for old and they say that my wifes claim will not affect the premium. Sounds very good to me.

NFU are very good. When I changed my D2 to the D3 with six months left on the policy they asked for an extra £24. Not bad to change the insurance from a vehicle worth £15K to one valued at £34K Very Happy

I pay about £650 but that's with class 1 business use and a claim in the last three years which was my fault

I was quite pleased with Norwich Union. They gave me 14 months for price of 12. And that 12 was £560 after I had written off some dweebs Nissan Micra at £8500 in a shunt when my Disco only had 80 miles on the clock Embarassed . By comparison Admiral wanted £860 for just 12 months.

NFU wouldnt quote me as they said there were no farmers in my postcode. But they are wrong I know lots of folks who grow weed in their attics in Croydon.

I paid about £330 on my TD4 and when I changed to the 3 only paid an extra £23.
For the year figure works out to about £375 on the 3, this is with Privilege this is 14000 miles full protected ncd.
