Just bought my 1st D3 as a non runner guess what’s wrong
I’ve just bought my first D3 having had lots of D1’s and 1 D2 and a fair few other green oval models but never a D3, I currently have an RRS which is probably my most favourite car I have ever had,
So why a D3 you maybe wondering... well it’s a box that needed ticking so I thought I’d get a broken one and fix it and go from there,
Well anyway I am getting the car collected and delivered to me Wednesday but in the meantime I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone wanted to play guess what’s wrong with the car which I see quite often on here when people are trying to fix there own cars without any diagnostics etc except with this there are no symptoms lol but I will be able to update as I go along with fault codes and what the eventual repair was,
My main reason for this is the seller was very vague in describing the fault in that it’s “a non runner” so I don’t know if it even turns over nor do I really care tbh as I bought it with the intention of changing the engine and just assume the old one is I will obviously check it over even if it’s to figure out if any parts are salvageable for a future project or even to ensure it’s not an ecu fault or similar in which a new engine would be useless,
The car is 57 plate tdv6 auto with circa 170k and as I said all I know is it’s a non runner, it has a current mot so has been running in the last 12 months (hopefully)
Get your guesses in and I will update as I go along and see who was first to get it right you never know it may just want a new battery

I doubt it has the fridge as it’s only an SE, I do have a spare one but is going in the RRS unless I can fix the one in there

Ran out of diesel and didn't know you need to bleed them before it will run and has killed the battery 2006 TdV6 HSE.

It’s got leather and nav so maybe, I’m not sure what will be first when it arrives trying to start it or checking out the spec
It would be funny if it’s something daft, it’s coming off a forecourt but it’s a trade sale so maybe it’s a px that’s been stood or maybe someone wanted to get rid of a lemon but I know I’m not that lucky

If it does transpire that it needs an engine, I have a spare one and it would stand any trial as can be heard running and even drive it.
