New Compressor problem

Had my old Hitachi unit replaced with an AMK unit and although operation was ok it has been muxh louder and I keep hearing a sudden whoosh of air every now and then. Now have a red warning light with speed restriction.

Any pointers for my indy? He will likely replace it

Did you replace it with the AMK-like version by Bearmach or the Arnott/AMK version?

The whooshing is fairly normal...the Disco fart!!!

It was the Arnott AMK version. I did not hear the 'fart' on the old one ever but its very noticeable now!

I've not had any problems with my Arnott/AMK one, but the Bearmach replacement before it was very noisy. The fart may have been muted to an extent by the plastic housing, something the Arnott/AMK one doesn't have!

When you fitted the Arnott/AMK version, did you use the new relay they supplied and put the blue or red air hose cap on what became the defunct air hose towards the rear of the compressor?

Have a look through the manual: http://arnottinfo.com/manuals/P-2645.pdf

Edit: I assume you also updated the software from Hitachi to AMK?

Everything fitted as per PDF. Software not updated so could it be that simple?

The software wil, I think, help with inflation/deflation times because all these different compressors work at different rate. The right software will also help to prolong the life of compressor itself because it may be overworking with the wrong software.

Will it solve the problem? I don't know. Do you have an IID to update it yourself or are you relying on your indie?
