EGR blank fixed-ish... future problem?

Hi all,

I was experiencing some dangerously-slow pull-offs at roundabouts and so on and was pointed in the direction of it being an EGR fault. As such, I bought a £15 blanking kit from eBay and fitted it. Whilst the sluggish Disco seems now to be cured, the installation didn’t go as swimmingly as I had hoped; I managed to snap the head of a bolt and lost it somewhere in the engine bay (hopefully it’s now found its way out).

The pipes are removed and 3/4 of the ‘holes’ are now sealed up. However, as you look towards the car, the furthest hole on the right (smaller diamond-shaped blanking plate) has its cover only fixed in place by one bolt as the other bolthead snapped and left the shaft in situ. As this hole clearly isn’t gas-tight, am I likely to have a issue or is it redundant anyway?

Yes, I know I should have bought new bolts but left it too late!

Cheers, Sam

Not being tremendously knowledgeable on these, but fumes is the 1st thought but it may only be a trace....

If all else fails get Rob at R&E to have look. I’d recommend them 100%.

Steve.
