Guys
Disco been intermittent with starting last month, RAC called out 2 weeks ago and apparently starter motor was ok and alternator was good as well but did suggest replace the battery so I have.
Few days and all was well however this past week put the key in ignition, glow plug light goes out so I turn the key, clunk !!! Starter motor won’t tuen, couple of times and a clunk again. At the moment after 3 or 4 attempts she will start.
I’m convinced the starter is seizing up and I’ve got to book her into a local garage -
Question: how much labour time for the following ???
1) replace starter motor (also how much are they roughly)
2) rear nearside wheel bearing (can here grinding as I’m driving and slowing down especially ? (Any idea on cost as well)
As always fella appreciate any heads up
Alan

For parts prices, check Advanced Factors site. Starter is a about £200.

In sure someone will be along to offer some labour time estimates. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

A starter that doesn't turn is not always goosed it could be other things, I would have them checked before asking for a replacement starter It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Rear wheel bearing does depend upon seizures, but expect 3-4 hours per side
Was that 3 to 4 hours to change bearing or 3 quarters of an hour ?????
