What is the largest battery that can be fitted?
I am starting to have some issues with my Exide 95ah battery and I bought a 10ah CTEK and panel charger. I am thinking the battery may be on its way out so if there is something larger than 95ah that can be fitted straight in the factory tray?

Thank you, is it the YUASA YBX5000 YBX019? If yes it has 100ah and 900A peak power compared to the 800A on the Varta that comes OEM. Do you notice any improved performance out of the battery or it's all the same?

I use Yuasa HSB019's (100 amp) great battery and 5 year warranty but its not an AGM! If you're current Exide is an AGM then you might need to update the vehicle BMS via diagnostics if changing to a standard battery. Although many have fitted standard batteries in place of AGM and vice versa without updating the BMS, and appear to have had no issues. LR recommend the update as the stored monitoring values are deleted and a new monitoring cycle and values begins with the new battery.
There are larger capacity batteries out there eg Yuasa HSB020 which is 110 amp but you would need to check measurements before ordering! There are also AGM variants out there too!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Well it has not died yet, unlike the previous recomended exide from tayna, that was very dissapointing.
i think the exide is just to cheap compared to any other quality make 019 out there and there has to be a reason for that?
My batteries get serious hard as only 5 mile commute and I use the fbh to warm the car beforehand.
I normally trickle charge the battery very week or two in the colder weather as the Exide needed it, the Yuasa has not seen the charger yet.

Spec shows the 020 is 40mm longer than the 019, bet it would be a tight fit, but might be worthwhile, plus it is cheaper by about 20 quid!

Yeah I have a D4 bonnet open here just now and I'd say squeezing past the + terminal Mega fuse might be tricky alright, but itjust might make it!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I bought my Yuasa HB019 from Halfords a couple of months back. £95 with the trade card which I thought was a good price...
