A variety of metal parcel shelves are also available - search for "Xanadoo".

Top one looks to be a genuine one but upside down. Bottom one has smaller area for rolled-up cover but I think someone on here has bought one … not seen any feedback about it though.
if it does fit, it has the very useful handle bit … something the "proper" one doesn't have but several on here have done as a mod. IIRC it's a VW-Audi handle for about £40.

Hi
I have a 5 seater Disco and have owned 2 x 7-seat parcel shelves/load covers (a cleaner one came up) and they have both fitted without issue. I have no idea what the difference is supposed to be. I am curious is there indeed is one!
Don’t forget the magic trick you can enjoy with the parcel shelf - it fits exactly in the gap between rear seats and boot floor when seats folded down flat!
Thanks
Andy

Nice tip Andy!
Once again I have decided to be stingy and make my own MDF hinged parcel shelf, lined with carpet. With hinges fitted in the the right place and few refinements such as flush handles, it folds up to double up as a dog guard too. It gives me the befit and f loading onto it aswell.
Who has the money to spend £100 on a roll of plastic anyway!!Landrover discovery 3, 2005, TDV6, manual, 5 seats

I think I paid £45 for my ratty one on ebay which I sold for £100. Then bought a perfect one in Switzerland for £10.... plus a £40 speeding fine for exceeding the speed limit by 3kph. Since bought the cruise control and volume buttons...

They are a load cover, to hide any valuable items.
If you don't have any valuable items stored in the car the just get in the way!
