Windows fogging up with heaters on?! |
|
Hi all,
My windows started digging up today after a bit of a downpour I have the exon turned off as I want the engine to warm the car now, any idea why this is happening and fixes for it?
Cheers,
Sol

Humidity and window temperature (outside temp) do make them fogging up….
To heat them up with your blower, does take time and does not always work if the circumstances are “there”. If the blower is functioning AND directing the air correctly, there is nothing more you can do
When aircons did not yet exist in cars in europe back in the day, we once in a while ( a lot!) had that problem too…
We all had all sorts of swabs laying around in our motors then… you did sometimes get them for free at fuel stations etc…
putting the aircon on (for a short period maybe) is the best solution.. as that acts/is a big air dryer….
And if there is no damp, it can not fog up
Ps, with my aircon on automatic, the air is dry and the inside is as warm as i want…
If i want to save fuel, i use the econ button (aircon/cooler out) and if needed i push it on for a few minutes… Best regards
Harold

i tried that and it did the trick for a while, is that the way to somewhat "dry" the air in the car then? just turn on the AC and it will dry it?

I dont think so the AC unit is crap the aircon shouldnt be lit up when off makes no sense to me that, so if the recirc button is lit up is it on or off?

It can be a sign water is in the floor, so check carpets are dry.
Air con on usually helps.
Recycle light should be off
Could also check pollen filter isn’t wet (drop glovebox )

Just switch the climate control to the setting you want and let it do its thing. If the the temp selected means the A/C is off and only providing heat and fogging occurs, then just switch on the Prog Defrost function and it will clear the windows immediately.

not "way somewhat" but Exactly that! a aircon is a huge dryer...and the moisture/water will be lead away outside the car... never seen water under your motor in the summer on a otherwise dry surface? Best regards
