Fire!
Had a call from one of the grooms to say my car was looking like it was on fire
Immediately dashed to the L322 Vogue I have bought for the wife, as I been faffing with the battery etc.
But NO! It was the beloved D4, smoking like hell from the tow bar socket area
Disconnected the battery and the smoking and crackling subsided.
Have now removed the fuse and its OK, but have no idea whats caused it....havent driven it for a week so cant think.

I am guessing so, but I am utterly hopeless when it comes to electrics.
i will have to pay someone to do it.

There have been quite a few on the forum now but it really down to the design of the 7-pin socket, rather than the vehicle. The wisest move from JLR would have been to refuse to offer them in the first place and only offer the 13-pin design from the beginning. I think all the current JLR vehicles only offer the non-burning connector these days. Better late than never I guess.

Think that was the second upgrade I did on the D3, after squidgy cupholders. Easy enough to carry an adapter for when you have to tow a luddite’s trailer!
