Discovery 3 blown engine

Hi everyone,
I have blown the engine in my 2007 Discovery 2.7 tdv6
Can anyone advise me on whether or not I can transplant a later, post 2012 3.0 tdv6 engine into my 2007 Discovery 3 ?
Thanks in advance

Interesting question.

Wouldn’t that be a lot more expensive ?
And no more reliable.

I honestly don’t know I’ve been told that the engine problems were ironed out after they stopped getting the crankshafts fabricated in Korea, I’ve been told a lot of things which is why I’ve joined this forum to try to get some accurate info Pete

And the moon is made of cheese. Laughing

Just transplant one from an S-Type jag. Thumbs Up

What does that mean? I understand the moon made of cheese probably means it might not work, does the S type Jag engine drop straight in and what does the list underneath mean?
Is that something that needs to be done too?

You'll get used to being on here. My comments relate to the advice your were given about the cranks. Just put your feet up, settle down for the night and do a search. Thumbs Up

The reason folk seem to use Jags is that they are cheap, and the economics work to buy a good Jag runner just for its engine. Then scrap it.

There is a fair bit to swap over, all the Land Rover ancillaries, and it think the bottom sump. The block and crank/heads are compatible.
