Been covered a million times...

I know this subject rears it’s head all the time but I I’m wondering what the “black plastic” treatment of choice is. Not using peanut butter. The local rats will eat my car. Auto glym bumper care has changed and is now awful. It streaks and runs at the first hint of rain.
What’s people’s go to product ? Thumbs Up

Repainting...? Whistle

You could try with Gtechniq C4 permanent trim restorer but it’s priced like unobtainium and not everyone is happy with the result. I bought a bottle last summer but didn’t get around to apply it to the graying headlight washers. Maybe next summer.... Mr. Green

Gtechniq C4 worked well for me on everything except... you guessed it ... the headlight washers. Bought new (Chinese) in the end - sorry kajtzu

Those little magic sponges get decent feedback here: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/restoring-bumpers-trim-165102.html.
Not tried them myself though.

Yeah, please do report back.
I bought some magic sponges on the back of that thread and never got around to using them on the black bits, in fact, never got around to using them at all. Rolling Eyes

I'll dig them out over the festive period if you report success. Thumbs Up

I’ve used them for tons of things, house and car but never thought of this. Made a huge difference with the beige on the door cards and centre cubby fridge lid etc.

Ah stuff it I be back now.....

Well holy Santa Claus Censored ....

I couldn’t resist. I had to try it.

Turned the one on the left into the one on the right...

I did the one front arch quickly. Absolutely flabbergasted.

Also a quick before and after of the drivers door card (details on my thread) from earlier.

A heat gun will restore them, if faded.

Be patient, take your time and work in a circular motion. An old favourite with car detailers.

Lube ? Err.... water ! Just soaked it and sqeezed the excess out for the black plastic. On the leather I used glyptone leather cleaner and conditioner.

I’ll take some more photos in the light tomorrow but it looks like a total transformation. I need to really clean the whole car badly !

Narpy if it looks that good in the light then absolutely top marks for the link ! Thumbs Up
