Park brake error only while towing - D4 light upgrade |
|
So I've had D4 lights with resistors (diy) on my D3 for a couple of years no problems. When I hook up to the new caravan within half hour (sometimes straight away) the dashboard lights up - park brake error with all the usual errors ensues. Put the original D3 lights on - no problems.
New caravan is all LED with a Sargent VLM6 board installed. As it all work properly with ordinal lights, dont feel I can persue the caravan route. Wonder if I need to adjust the resistance in the D4 lights?

Interesting you think brake lights as I do too. Not sure how to do that without chopping more wires. What size resistor?

Same value resistors as indicators.

I’ll give that a go. I’ve got some spare resistors somewhere!

Great advice - no more errors so far. Got a few more hundred miles of towing this summer but so far so good.
