Uneven Rear Brake Pad Wear on NEW Caliper. D4 MY10
Wonder if anyone can shed some light on this?
Nov 2018 (113k miles): I changed the right-rear caliper (bought from Advanced factors) as it was squealing and noticeably hotter than left side after a long journey. Stuck a set of EBC Greenstuff pads on the rear axle at the same time. Seems to have been fine until recently noticed a squeal again from the right rear.
Now on 121k and outer right rear pad is down to 2mm whilst inner pad is 7mm. Both left side pads are about 7mm.
If caliper was sticking (it shouldn't be it's only 6m old), it should do both pads, right? Why would outer pad be knackered and inner pad only half worn?

If the wheel was squealing it is a sign of metal to metal wear, depending on how bad it is this wear always leaves a rough surface requiring the disks to be changed, or as the above post.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
