New internal water leak

The missus has just sent me a video of water dripping rather enthusiastically from the alarm sensor above the rear view mirror.

We've never had water leak from here before or anywhere in the roof lining. It seems a strange place to leak as the car is parked uphill and I'd have though any leak would head to the rear of the car.

Any thoughts on where to look when I get home Friday?

Waterleaks is not something I want to entertain!

I can't help with the source of the leak but I'd advise you to put a container and some towels down so the water doesn't cause you further problems through dripping on the centre console or dash.

Thanks for the advise.

As an update. I've asked her to check both footwells and around the sunroof lining. All dry.

I'd have thought if it was a sunroof drain a footwell would be wet?

It seems an odd place for water to collect. It didnt appear until she drove the car down the road.

I guess that is close to the sunroof motor.

Maybe both drains are blocked

apparently they are behind the vents in the wings.
you have to remove the shield behind it too.

Maybe just easier to remove the plastic wheel arch

Worth checking this:

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/not-sunroof...p;start=15

Since I posted this a couple of other D3's have leaked in the same place.
The water gets in the headlining and comes out where it can.

@Pete K
I think the drains are good, but will check them again as they were clear in the past.

@Nasher
Just reading your post as you sent this. Interesting.

When I polished the car a few weeks back I did pay attention to cleaning the green mold and crud from around window seals and the gutter channels. I wonder if something has shifted?

I'll have to check these out when I'm home at the weekend

100% sunroof drain pipes. That's how mine was before I did the pipes (I fitted new ones and new end connectors).

So I've discovered the offside front drain was blocked. I've managed to flush if so that it's now partially block. Alot of debris that looked like fish food flakes came out.

I was wondering has anyone tried flushing them with something like Mr muscle drain unblocked?

I'm not sure if it might be to caustic and cause damage to the pipes?

Any thoughts?
