[For Sale] Uncle Ray’s Spare Wheel protector
This was on MY14 D4 HSE with 19 inch wheels for 1 year. Usual grime, light surface rust etc, but in good condition. Keep those light fingered B***ers off your spare and winding mechanism - costly to replace.
£30. Collect from Godalming, Surrey... or add postage, but it is
heavy.

The end of the spare wheel winch passes through the centre of your spare (spare wheel concave side down) and then into the hole on the top side of the RLD Protector.
You winch it all up and all the thief will see under your vehicle is the flat steel plate and they will not be able to get to the winch cable to cut it.
Simple, effective and an essential bit of kit.
@nbunney you've been on this forum for 9 years and don't have one ??????????
sit the flat side on the ground, drop your spare over it with pretty side upwards. drop the winch end bit through middle of wheel and hole in the raised part of the protector ... then winch up as usual. stops scrotes having access to the cable, so they can't cut through it and take your nice shiny alloy..
