Special programs turned off / limp mode

Anyone had much luck curing special programs turned off fault?

I’ve got a 54 plate manual d3 and it keeps throwing this warning up usually when towing under load. It goes into limp mode but isn’t throwing any lights up on the dash, the lights on the all terrain dial go off but if I press the clutch and let the rev counter drop to 0 and coast for a minute it goes back to driving normally unless I get too heavy footed. The lights on the dial stay turned off until I cycle the ignition again. I’ve recentlot changed the fuel filter for a genuine Landy filter and the codes that’s showing are:

U0401 - invalid data received from engine control module / power train control module
B1b02 - low frequency coil
B1b69 - 12 volt supply circuit
B1b70 - local interconnection network bus circuit 2
B1c26 - pedal motor feedback circuit
P2290 - injector control pressure too low

Scanned with icarsoft v2

Any help appreciated.

Update, new code popped up today that I haven’t had before P0087 - fuel rail / system pressure too low

I’m guessing this is linked to my P2290 fault. Tomorrow I’ll be checking the fuel system after reading Robbie’s guide. I’ve checked some amps etc today but will wait until tomorrow when my gauge arrives to test the fuel pressure before I post all my results. I’m leaning towards LPFP but i do have some doubts.

Sure you’ve got the fuel filter pipes fitted correctly?

I’m pretty sure I did, they came with the colours marked on the top of the filter and I did double check when fitting but now you’ve asked that I will check again for peace of mind. This trucks giving me trust issues 😂

May be a long shot but when strange faults occur it could be the brake peddle switch or faulty brake light bulbs, the brake light switch is much more than just a switch it sends signals to various modules, most enthusiastic owners always carry one and bulbs as spare. Thumbs Up
If you are getting the fuel rail pressure fault and it is causing problems the HP pump is on the way out Big Cry

I’ve changed all rear bulbs around a month ago for its MOT for the sake of a few quid for the brake switch I think I’ll order one and get it done for peace of mind to rule that out. I was really hoping it wasn’t going to be the HP pump i didn’t want to tackle that. 🤦‍♂️

I’ve now changed the brake pedal switch just to rule that out. Cleared codes went for a run and still the same faults. I’ve tested the draw via MM on fuse one and below are the results

3.8a when turning on ignition while the motor is warm from a run.
4.2a whole engine running at 2k rpm
I jumped the relay for the pump and got well over 1L in a minute I’ve seen people getting a lot less, I’ve tested the pressure best I can with a gauge I have but it’s not the best and it looks around 6-7 psi

I’m starting to think it’s the high pressure pump now as the amount of fuel the lpfp is throwing out is a good amount.
