Prop shaft or Torque Convertor? |
|
Hi Gents,
Thoughts please what do I look for?
So the D3 (07) has a horrible noise and dare not drive it just moving on the drive is a worry !
At first I thought it was the driveshaft as it had spat is grease out of the spilt boot, new driveshaft and top balljoint - changed the discs, pads and the N/S/F height sensor while I had her on the stands in the garage
It is a Rotational sound hence why I thought it was the Driveshaft - have checked both wheel bearings and all ok - appears to be from O/S front and only when in drive.
Any pointers appreciated 2007 Disco 3 HSE - Artic Frost

Hi Andrew,
Been underneath this afternoon and come to the conclusion it’s the O/S/F driveshaft - going to get it looked at next week up on a ramp.
Just moving very slowly the noise makes you think something is about to snap, there’s a click and then no noise, move in the opposite direction nothing a click and then the “oh sh*t” it’s going to break noise! 2007 Disco 3 HSE - Artic Frost
