To chirp or not to chirp on lock & unlock

I've read that in some countries a chirp can be enabled as a audio signal when the doors are locked & unlocked.

I've got a 2016 Landmark which I'd like to enable this on.

Information seems a little vague on how to achieve this. I see the detail from Bodsy on the D3's but not for a late D4.

Can't see anything in the cars settings menu like my BMW has. Is it an option to turn on with the IID or does it require a CCF edit?

Anyone able to assist with further information?

I might be wrong, but I thought that on the late models you could turn it on or off from one of the settings menu. I can't check anymore Sad

If not it can be done with an IID or similar.

ETA:

"Double locking secures the vehicle and prevents the doors from being unlocked or opened from inside or outside the vehicle.

Double locking provides extra security if the vehicle is left unattended. The vehicle cannot be opened by breaking a window and operating the doors from inside. Additionally, double locking arms the full alarm system.

Press the lock button on the smart key twice within 3 seconds to double lock the vehicle and arm the full alarm system. The hazard warning lights flash twice to confirm. If enabled, a double lock tone sounds."

hehe, yeah that's what I'm trying to enable as it doesn't make any noise when i double lock.

I'll have to have a look through the IID menus....

I'm quite happy that the chirp means I've not shut everything properly ... threw me a bit that I once parked next to a girl with an RRS and we both hit "lock" within a second of each other and I heard the chirp as she had it enabled for locking.

if you enable chirp for successful locking, does it then do silence for a fail or does it do some other noises ?

Yes I enabled it in the CCF settings, useful to know you've locked the car.

United Kingdom

ive had lock/unlock chirp enabled on my 2012MY XS spec.

beeps once when I lock it (but not on the 2nd press)
beeps twice when I unlock it

still chirps if a door/bonnet/boot is open and try to lock it

it was done via IID and IIRC is actually labelled 'chirp' on the IID

Thanks for all the advise & insights,

I Enabled the chirp in the CCF file, didn't seem to chirp logically so i didn't go a lot on the end result, Disabled again in the CCF file.

Got that outta my system.
