D3/4/RRS Meyle HD front lower control arms - solid rear bush |
|
Having read through all the search results there's a number of posts of members who've recently purchased and going to fit, or are ordering, the Meyle HD front lower control arms with the solid rear bush for their D3/D4/RRS, but very little reports about them after fitment.
I'm interested to please hear any comments/thoughts/opinions from those that have had the Meyle HD front lower control arms with the solid rear bush fitted to their D3/D4/RRS, particularly in regards to any noticeable difference in vehicle feeling front steering wheel feedback or bumps, and use on rougher roads both tarmac and dirt/gravel? Hi, I put Meyler lower control arms on the Front of my D3. I very rarely go off road. After changing the arms I noticed it was more precise in the straight ahead position on tarmac. I noticed no difference in the ride. I did not go for any other comparison OEM arms, so cannot say which is better. I would say that the Meyle arms look more sturdy when you compare them with the originals. I looked at poly bushes as an option but some posters say they give a harsher ride. I will be getting the upper arms done next year. Probably go Meyle again.

Thanks latnutgub. Depending on the condition of the old bushes it could be hard to compare. We've got two MY12 D4's here - one had new genuine Land Rover lower arms fitted two years ago/20,000km, the second now requires them which if I go with with Meyle HD will provide an interesting comparison between the two.
From Nc1989 in https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post2188666.html#2188666 :
Quote:I’ve fitted arms with the Meyle HD bushes in earlier on this year and it’s made the ride and steering in my opinion quite a lot more sensitive to road conditions compared to stock arms. They’ve since bedded in a little and become slightly less harsh but to begin with I was considering removing them again feeling like I’d made a big mistake
and from Disco_Mikey:
Quote:We fit HD arms (unless someone specifically wants a cheaper option) and we've had 0 complaints in 4 years about ride quality/longevity etc Thumbs Up Mine - modified MY03 LT L318 Discovery 2a HSE Td5 15P
