1) How well are these supported on the back of the HSE with the glass roof? There is a steel panel, about 4" wide before the glass section, so I'm guessing that would be ideal for the pads - but would placing it there interfere with the tailgte opening or cause any other issues?
2) Does anyone have example pictures they could share please so I can see how far from the end the roof bar needs to be? The whole purpose of the rollers is to prevent damage to the roof of the car, so would need to be approximately flush with the back of the car. If the rollers then clamp onto the roof bar, does that mean everything is shunted backwards?
Example of what I'll be carrying shown. This one's not too difficult to lump up on my own - but some of the boats I carry are a significant weight and near-impossible on my own without damaging something - usually myself

Yup - I have seen many of these in use, particularly on higher vehicles like transits and think they are very smart. Also a bit expensive, but the supports (J-bar things) are really good quality, flexible but tough. I've never really considered for my own vehicle, perhaps I should.

In all fairness, its not something I know about or have use for.
However I was in Denmark a few years ago and watched a window cleaner get his ladders off the side of his car this way. Looked so simple.
Looked a great piece of kit

When I had a canoe I was considering adapting a ladder rack system like this.
Would’ve adapted the frame to be able to load my canoe on (instead of ladders).
However, I solved my problem a different way .... I sold the canoe and stuck with my kayak.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Another option: probably making a simple problem more complex, but it would be good for second spare wheel etc.

I have had a set of these for about five years, I use them for my Canadian canoe which is a two man lift.
I find them excellent,you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks thisandy, that's just the type of photo I was hoping for.
Do you have any pics with the boat loaded? Just wondering how well the gunnels lie on the bars.

My canoe measures 650mm across, the roller bar is 750mm, so it’s just right.
I hope this helps

That helps massively, thank you Andy. I notice you also have the ladder I'm thinking of getting. Good to see it all fits together.
Nice boat too

This is extremely helpful!
Well done folks.
Are the rhino bars any good for 8’x4’ sheets with the shorter roof rails?
Also anyone else poo poo themselves using ratchet straps etc over the glass roof?

Seems to be every time I use them!!!
I’ve seen looped end straps that are all fabric though. Having said that the ratchet is still metal.
