5 out 6 Glow Plugs.....

.....DEAD no response with the multimeter set on 200ohms the 6th one was around 800k so no good either.

Found these guys who are mobile and will charge £750 to remove all six assuming the V has been stripped ready...

I would do a body off and refit for not much more. Even using genuine LR glow plugs only £100, or so for parts. Including the n/s/r one on a EU4 engine might justify the cost, because the HPFP has to come off.

I have replaced a fair number of TDV6 glow plugs, including some very tight ones. With a lot of patience I reckon almost all will unscrew, without the need for extractors or fitting inserts.

Thanks Motorworks.

Just read the glow plug section in the Workshop manual that I downloaded from the Wiki... I wonder if the guy (or gal) that wrote this every had to remove them !


"Removal
1. Disconnect the batter\ ground cable.
For additional information, refer to: Specifications (414-00
Batter\ and Charging S\stem - General Information,
Specifications).
2. Remove the crankcase vent oil separator.
For additional information, refer to: Crankcase Vent Oil
Separator (303-08C Engine Emission Control - TDV6 2.7L
Diesel, Removal and Installation).
3. Remove the glow plugs."

Iv got the same problem x5 out of 6 are dead but I use the fbh to warm the car up on cold days so not an issue I'm getting my mate todo mine he just did his in less than a couple of hours body on but he left the one obstructed by the hpfp luckily he said that was his only working 1 😂

All came out easily sods law says mine dont
