D3 rear driveshaft. Std vs ediff

Is there any differences between the standard and electronic diff rear driveshafts. Will be retrofitting an ediff and the cv of the existing std diff driveshaft is Censored . So can I fit an ediff driveshaft to the std diff before they are swapped out?
